A FAMILY'S THEOLOGICAL RITES OF PASSAGE SPANNING FIVE GENERATIONS FROM 1800s TO THE PRESENT
REV. DR. WAYNE M. REYNOLDS
PASTOR’S BIOGRAPHY
Rev. Dr. Wayne M. Reynolds received his call to preach at age 14 in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Reynolds entered the ministry through Gorham United Methodist Church in Chicago, Illinois where his father, an award-winning civil rights leader and community activist for 60+ years, Dr. Everett S. Reynolds, Sr., also served as Pastor.
In addition to being a spiritual mentor, leader, police chaplain, coach, and teacher, Dr. Reynolds is proudly a 5th generation preacher within the Methodist Church! Accordingly, Dr. Reynolds has an extremely robust knowledge of the history, character, and scope of pastoring, which spans the entire history of the Methodist Church and throughout the United States of America.
Among his many educational accomplishments, Dr. Reynolds received the Master of Divinity Degree from the Gammon-Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia and his Doctorate from the Carolina University of Theology in Manassas, Virginia.
"Football Theology
for Championship Christian Living"
In addition to celebrating God as a full-time pastor, Dr. Reynolds is also completing his manuscripts for two books.
"Football Theology for Championship Christian Living," is tentatively schedule for publication in the fall of 2020. This book covers the interesting history and dynamics surrounding two very popular institutions, football (sports) and religion (church). To this subject Dr. Reynolds brings to bear his hands-on, first-hand experience and knowledge as a former collegiate football player, a national All-American ranking in track and field, his ongoing status as a career athlete in masters track and field, and as a K-12 public school football, basketball, and USATF track coach.
"Homosexuality Reality," will address an issue that continues to compel religious dissension worldwide. As validated by the recent decision of the United Methodist Church to adhere to the traditional teachings of the Bible and the Book of Discipline of the Methodist Church, which clearly do not support homosexuality, with "Homosexuality Reality," Dr. Reynolds will present an accurate, theologically balanced Biblical interpretation of homosexuality that makes sense to the old school fire and brimstone sisters and brothers, while also incorporating the values of a more inclusive and diverse society.
Stay tuned.

and career athlete

As an athlete Dr. Reynolds competed in 83 USATF sanctioned events, and has placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in 95% of all of his races. In addition to track events, Dr. Reynolds competed in several 5k, 10k, 20k events, a vertical marathon, and various multi-sporting events. Although now retired from competitive running, Dr. Reynolds previously maintained a weekly base-training for track events (100m, 200m, 400m) which added over 20,000 miles on his physique, and his base-training regime for road races (5k, 10k, etc.) and various multi-sporting events added nearly another 10,000 miles. Dr. Reynolds remains a career athlete beyond track and field, and whenever possible he enjoys cycling, rollerskating, basketball hotshot and freethrow events; plus he enjoy throwing the javelin. The benefits of living a healthy and fit lifestyle and not lost on Dr. Reynolds, and he welcomes sharing his insight whenever requested. You'll want to read "Football Theology for Championship Christian Living," whether you're a fan of football or the church, or not. For the most part, no one likes losing, and as you know, winning is a whole lot of fun.
